Tempo Lush Tales Teasers: Mike Medaglia

Many folk know Mike Medaglia through his co-founding Comic Gosh!p graphic novel reading group.
Some know him as editor extreme for his Wu Wei Anthology.
Others know him through his wonderful creations Seasons, Meditations Illustrated or Last Days of Nobodies.
Thousands more will discover his work through his new regular comics at Huffington Post.
I like to think of him as that nice guy I eat stir fried rice with.

Anyway he was kind enough to visually interpret some song lyrics of mine for Tempo Lush Tales.  Here’s a sneaky peaky peak of Save Night-Time for my Dreamssave-nighttime-sampleCover-for-Promo

Rosie and Jacinda Magical Preview: Chie Kutsuwada

It’s been great collaborating with my talented Brighton based friend Chie Kutsuwada this Summer, not only on a story for Tempo Lush Tales (preview soon!) but also on pages of the upcoming Rosie and Jacinda: Demon Cloud.

Chie is an amazing visual story teller and draws the Rosie and Jacinda characters flawlessly…

Tempo Lush Tales Teasers: Paul Shinn

Next up in our Tempo Lush Tales preview series it’s the fantastic illustrator and cartoonist Paul Shinn.  I’ve love his cartoons and comics and was really pleased with how he adapted his style to this story, showing a full range of subtle emotions for the characters.

The brilliant and deservedly award winning Jade Sarson (For the Love of God Marie!, Cafe Suada) has drawn some amazing pages for Rosie and Jacinda: Demon Cloud.

You’ll have to wait until the comic comes out October 3rd to see the whole thing, but I will tease you with a couple of panels showing her amazing abilities…R&J-Jade-sample

Tempo Lush Tales Teasers: Steven Walsh

Anyone who’s been guided by his comic expertise or in Gosh! Comics in Soho, or been entertained and enlightened by him on the South London Hardcore podcast will know how easy to listen to and damn smart Steven Walsh is!

So I was extremely happy when Steve agreed to write the foreword to Tempo Lush Tales.  Here’s a snippet….

“It’s always exciting when you realise you are living through a Golden Age.
By their very nature they are brief, barely tangible moments in history where enough elements align to allow for the flourishing of a particular movement or medium and it’s wonderful to be able to realise that one is happening around you.

Cover-for-PromoSteve also scripts comics himself which can be seen in The Comix Reader, Score & Script and Wu Wei and writes about them in Your Days Are Numbered.

If that’s not enough he’s currently running three regular comic related meet ups at Gosh!, Gosh!p (graphic novel reading group), Capers! (focusing on superheros) and Process (an evening for comic creators to learn and discuss their craft).

More importantly this is what Steve and his co-host Jack McInroy looked like when I drew them as octopuses.
