Richy K. Chandler is a London based writer, illustrator and comic creator.

Richy is a regular contributor to the award-winning Eco Kids Planet Magazine, providing illustrations and writing and drawing the Amelia the Fox comic strip.

Richy has illustrated The No Panic Book of Not Panicking (Apples & Snakes) and The Parenting Patchwork Treasure Deck (JKP) written by Dr Karen Treisman.

After earning a diploma at Wimbledon School of Art, Richy graduated from Camberwell College of Arts with a degree in Ceramics.

In 2007, Richy’s small press publisher, Tempo Lush, began producing several highly rated comics including Bang! Crash! Whizz!, with artist Sally-Anne Hickman, two volumes of the Tempo Lush Tales comics anthologies and the teenage romantic comedy, Rosie and Jacinda, co-created by manga artist and fashion illustrator Zarina Liew.

Richy has worked as a creator for Titan Comics, writing Adventure Time, Almost Naked Animals and over 250 Wallace and Gromit newspaper comic strips, as well as drawing for the Dreamworks’ Home comic book.

Richy has contributed to several comics anthologies including Wu Wei, Score & Script, Accent UK’s Robot, A bit of Undigested Potato and Art Aid Nepal’s Home.

Over two weekends in 2015 and 2016, Richy organised comic creator retreats in South London. These resulted in two 5-person collaborations and the publication of children’s adventure comic Alidade and experimental comic print collection Space Pilgrim.

When not creating books and illustrations he can be found playing Minecraft with his son, writing songs or performing Stand-Up and Improvised Comedy.

Richy has lived in the big city of London all his life, except in 2000-2001 when he lived in the even bigger city of Tokyo. Some nights his house flies off into space. Not every night though.
