Workshop Details

Comic Creating Workshops are fantastic for engaging children, teenagers and adults in…

• Developing narratives
• Visualising ideas
• Self-Expression
• Learning new skills
• Creative collaboration
• Fun with a sense of achievement

Richy is happy to give talks and run workshops on making comics and graphic novels, covering character design, story telling, illustration, lettering, visualising ideas and self-publishing.  He is able to plan sessions around your timetable and incorporate any themes you wish to focus on.

To give you an idea of the content of one of Richy’s workshops, a day long session (5 hours) might go roughly like this…

    •    Introduction to what a comic creator does and Richy’s own work (with accompanying images)
    •    Warm Up Creative Games / Exercises
    •    Character Development exercises and introduction (with accompanying images)
    •    Participants develop and draw their own characters
    •    Story based games / exercises
    •    Story writing and planning
    •    Creating strip using participant’s own characters

Shorter workshops would focus on specific elements of this plan.

Richy is also experienced in and able to give talks and assemblies.
